What data goSUP collects, why we need it, where it lives and what you can ask us to do with it.

The short version

At goSUP we care about your privacy. In this policy we explain what data we collect, how we use it and what rights you have.

1. Data we collect

Email – for creating the account, for signing in (we email you a one-time sign-in link) and for confirming a change of address.
Profile data (optional) – first name, last name and avatar, if you choose to add them. These will be shown to other users (for example, on a spot page the avatar and the message “Spot added by [first name]” are displayed).
Spot data – when you add a spot (name, description, coordinates, type, country, county).
Technical data – standard logs (e.g. IP address, browser), for security and statistics.

To let you search for, save and add spots.
To show your contributions on the platform (e.g. avatar and first name next to the spots you added).
To keep your account active and secure.
To send you the emails the account needs: sign-in links and email-change confirmations. We send no newsletters or marketing emails.
To improve our services (e.g. anonymous statistics).
We do not use your data for spam ads and we do not sell it to third parties.

Supabase – the database and file storage (spots, accounts, avatars), hosted in the EU (Frankfurt).
Vercel – hosts and serves the site; with your consent, it also measures visits and page speed.
Brevo (France) – sends our emails. It receives your email address and the content of the message (e.g. the sign-in link), and keeps delivery logs.
These providers process the data only on our behalf and only to provide their service.
We use technical measures to protect the data against unauthorised access.

You have the right to:

Strictly necessary (no consent needed): keeping you signed in, your language, your theme, your location when you tap “Locate me”, and your cookie choice.
Statistics (only with your consent): Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights measure visits and page speed anonymously and in aggregate. They set no cookies of their own.
Videos (only with your consent): YouTube videos linked in spot descriptions load from youtube-nocookie.com, and only when you press play. YouTube may then set its own cookies.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. We ask again after six months.

We reserve the right to update this policy. Any change will be published on the site.
